Kinusaiga
Ladies' Evening: Kinusaiga
Japanese craft art — no needle, no thread, just colour and creativity.
This Friday we're going to try Kinusaiga together — a fascinating Japanese technique where colourful fabric scraps are pressed into grooves to create vivid textile pictures. A completely different kind of patchwork: relaxing, creative, and with instant satisfaction.
Kinusaiga was developed in Japan in the 1960s and means something like "silk textile colouring". The wonderful part: no sewing experience needed whatsoever. Each participant presses her own personal motif from colourful fabrics — and takes a finished work of art home at the end of the evening.
We'll provide materials and are delighted if you bring along your own fabric scraps, remnants or old clothes. The more colourful and varied, the more beautiful the result!
While we experiment and explore, there's as always time for conversation, laughter and a cosy evening in a small group. Tea, coffee and drinks will be ready, along with something warm to eat and small snacks.
An evening of discovery — Japanese art meets community in Lysabild.
